NORTH GEORGIA WILDLIFE
The wildlife viewing in the north Georgia Mountains is easy as animals are abundant and can easily be spotted especially in the winter months. You will have a good chance of seeing bears, wild turkeys, raccoons, oppossums, deer, river otters, squirrels, beavers, bobcats, minks, chipmunks, beavers, fox, coyotes, rabbits, numerous song birds, hummingbirds, vultures, ducks, geese, owls, several species of hawks, pregrine falcons, herons, bald and golden eagles, kingfishers, osprey and so much more. Most North Georgia Mountains wildlife can be spotted in the early morning or evening while on scenic drives or at your cabin rental. Since the cabin is located on Mountaintown creek in Ellijay, you will likely view the animals as they venture to the Georgia Mountains stream for water and for food. All life centers around their water source and you have a front row seat at this Georgia Mountains cabin while sitting on the covered deck.
Each season brings different wildlife and views. Of course, in the winter season, the views are best without foliage to obscure the animals.
Please remember to keep your distance between you and wildlife and never try to feed any of the wildlife especially the bears for your own safety. Although the bears seem to be so cute, they are wild animals and strong. Don't be fooled as a black bear can be dangerous and unpredictable in their search for food or to protect their young. Please view from a distance and when taking pictures, use a telephoto lens. Remember to be safe and view and enjoy the bears from a distance.
